The courses

Some of the best golf in the North West.

Six courses on the North West coast, from the Wirral to the Fylde. Three have hosted The Open. All six are places you’d happily play on your own account.

Dates and venue pairings for 2027 are provisional while final arrangements are confirmed.

The home of Stableford scoring, and a proper links on the Wirral, with big dunes and views across the water.

Event two · 23 and 24 June

Fairhaven

A testing course close to Royal Lytham, with humps, hollows, revetted bunkers and a real links feel. It has been used for Open qualifying.

Formby and Royal Birkdale

Event three · 25 and 26 August

Formby

Pines, dunes and a quiet, understated character. A classic links that doesn’t shout about itself.

Event three · 25 and 26 August · Grand Final

Royal Birkdale

A regular host of The Open, with fairways running between high dunes and one of the most recognisable clubhouses in golf. We’d like to finish here, where the Order of Merit winner is crowned.
