For your organisation

Taking this to your organisation.

You may want your organisation to fund your place. That’s a reasonable thing to ask. Here is the plain case, on one page.

In short

A six-month leadership development experience for sixteen senior leaders, built around golf.

Trajector is a small, carefully designed leadership experience. Over three two-day residential events between April and August 2027, a group of sixteen senior leaders plays six rounds of golf at leading courses in the North West of England. Two online check-ins between the events keep the group talking in between.

Across the six days there are facilitated conversations on leadership, three expert guest contributors from sport or business, and time to work on real issues from participants’ own organisations.

Golf is part of how it works. It gives you hours with the same peers, with no meetings to get to, and the same sixteen people stay together across all three events. That is difficult to get in a classroom or at a conference.

What you’re funding

What your organisation is funding.

A six-month leadership development experience, made up of:

  • Three two-day residential events
  • Six days of golf at leading courses in the North West
  • Three guest contributors from sport and business
  • Facilitated leadership discussions at every event, with time to think through what to take back to the business
  • Two online check-ins between the events
  • The same group of sixteen, coming together five times across the series

The value is in the whole six-month experience, not in six golf days on their own. Golf gets the group talking. What makes it useful is the same sixteen people meeting again and again, with time in between to try ideas at work and bring back what happened.

What happens between events

What you get

What your organisation gets.

  • Time to thinkThree events of proper time away from the business. It’s hard to find elsewhere, and it’s where the useful thinking tends to happen.
  • Peers outside the organisationHonest challenge and perspective from senior leaders in other businesses, and a group that carries on beyond the events.
  • Real workThe group picks the issues, so the conversations start from what participants are actually dealing with. The focus is practical: working out ways through real problems, using the experience in the room.
  • A framework the group shapesSix leadership themes across the three events, in a sequence that builds. See the conversations

How it’s designed

Thoughtfully designed, professionally facilitated.

The structure is light on purpose, but it is there.

  • A starting framework of six leadership themes across three events: yourself, other people, teams, organisations, strategy and what comes next
  • An agenda shaped by the participants, with their input in advance, and real issues worked through using the experience in the room
  • Facilitated by Clint Godfrey, an experienced leadership educator, facilitator and coach
  • Two facilitated leadership discussions at each event, six across the series
  • Three guest contributors, one at each event: experts on that event’s themes and top performers from sport or business, sharing ideas to take back to your organisation, practice and teams
  • A group limited to sixteen, the same people at all three events
  • Time between events to try ideas at work, with two online check-ins so the group can say what happened and raise anything new before the next event

Questions

Questions you might be asked.

Isn’t this just a golf trip?

It’s a fair question. Golf is the setting, and it’s a big part of why the group gets to know each other well. But it isn’t six golf days on their own. The same group stays together across the whole series, with facilitated conversations on leadership, three guest contributors, time to work on real issues from participants’ own organisations, and two online check-ins in between to keep it going. The golf isn’t a reward for the development. It’s part of how it works.

What will I get out of it?

A clearer view of how you lead and the effect you have on others. A group of senior peers, the same sixteen throughout, to work through real issues with. And conversations about the harder parts of leadership that are difficult to have inside your own organisation.

Who decides what gets covered?

There’s a starting framework of six leadership themes, spread across the three events. You can see it on the Conversations page. Within that, the participants set the priorities. They give input in advance on the issues they want to get into, and once the group is together it works on practical ways through them, using the experience in the room. That keeps the time relevant to the people taking part.

How much time is it?

Three residential events, each with two days of golf and one overnight stay, between April and August 2027. That’s three nights away in total, with six days on the course. There are also two online check-ins with the group between the events. The provisional dates are 28 and 29 April, 23 and 24 June, and 25 and 26 August 2027, while final arrangements are confirmed. The venues are on the courses page.

Who runs it?

Clint Godfrey, who works across leadership, education and sport and has designed and delivered leadership programmes for managers and senior leaders. There’s more on the About page.

What does the investment cover?

The expected investment covers the full series across all three events: three overnight stays, core hospitality, transport where required, six rounds of golf, three guest contributors, two online check-ins between events and the leadership programme.

Can I take part in just one event?

No. Trajector is a single programme for one group of sixteen, and the same people stay together across all three events. That continuity is a big part of why it works.
